Folder Password Protect is a small utility that is used to disable access to your folders. The application allows you to password-protect any folder in your system. Folders that are protected with Folder Password Protect cannot be opened or modified in any way. If you double-click on them, the application will be launched and you will be asked for a password to unlock access to it.
When you open the application's main window, there are only two tasks that you can carry out: lock and unlock. Those are pretty self-explanatory. The trial version has a few limitations. You can add upto three folders of less than 50 megabytes. Your passwords should be at least 6 characters in length. You can only lock a folder by opening the application and selecting the "lock" option. Unlocking is easier. You can simply unlock a folder by double-clicking it.
This application performed quite well on Windows XP. I was able to password-protect a test folder and I couldn't access it without typing my password. I even tried to use the command line to see if I could bypass the application, but to no avail.
All in all, this application works, but it isn't the most secure tool to use. Still, if you are in a hurry, it will do the job.
